Rice

Rice is a light, easily digestible food which aids and prevents diarrhoea and dysentery.

1 serving size of ½ cup of cooked rice contains:
Calories:    110
Carbohydrate:    25 milligram
Protein:        2 grams

Rice has many health benefits as it:
–  helps to clear up psoriasis
–  prevents kidney stones
–  fights diarrhoea
–  lowers blood pressure
–  contains chemicals that prevent cancer

Rice assists with weight loss and has been shown to have positive effects upon the symptoms of psoriasis.

Research has found that eating rice daily prevents kidney stones from forming.

Rice contains cancer-fighting anti-oxidant compounds called ‘protease inhibitors’, and studies have shown that eating a lot of rice may lower rates of breast, prostate and colon cancers.

Rice contains complex carbohydrates (starches) as well as other vital nutrients such as protein, essential fats, vitamins, minerals and fibre, making it an important source of complex carbohydrates.
